Description
Wind Hybrid Power Generation (WHyPGen) Market Development Initiative carries out activities to encourage increased use of renewable energy, particularly wind turbines, to be operated in parallel (hybrid) with power generators which use other primary energy. One of the project activities is to create WHyPGen technology demonstration project (component activity # 2: WHyPGen demonstration). In this activity, WHyPGen project does not independently develop Hybrid wind turbine demonstration project, but rather encourages, supports and facilitates others who want to build this power plant, as well as develops and optimizes existing hybrid wind turbine generation. One hybrid wind turbine generation that can be optimized further is a wind farm installed on the island of Nusa Penida, Bali, which is currently not functioning. The Directorate General of Renewable Energy and Energy Conservation as the owner had opened a tender to repair the wind turbine and Photovoltaic power, but at the end of the tender there was only one bidder who did not meet the requirements and was disqualified. With limited time to re-tender, it was decided to not continue and will be budgeted again in 2016. Based on the above conditions, the WHyPGen project will revitalize one unit of wind turbine generator and one system of solar photovoltaic generation, and will also improve with hybrid control system in the form of automatic load-sharing controller system so that the operating diesel power plant can compensate for fluctuations of wind power and solar photovoltaic - as well as to upgrade web-based hybrid power plant operational monitoring equipment to include revitalised wind turbine and solar photovoltaic generation. Currently, without the existence of this hybrid control system, the wind turbine and solar phovoltaic generation in Nusa Penida can not supply output power optimally. The revitalization works are consist of 4 lots: 1. Revitalisation and Improvement For Wind Turbine Power Generation 2. Revitalisation and Improvement For Solar Photovoltaic Power Generation 3. Remote Monitoring Development 4. Hybrid Control Development All above works are executed simultaneously and expected finalized on April 2016 ADIGUNA SHIPBUILDING & ENGINEERING Contract Award for LOT-4
